“Hold Hope!” Campaign: Sharing God’s Love in Nairobi

March 26, 2026

On March 26, the World Mission Society Church of God held a meaningful food donation ceremony at the Starehe Sub-County Office to support our neighbors in need.

In the face of the ongoing climate crisis and economic challenges, the Church of God (General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol) successfully hosted the “Hold Hope!” campaign in Nairobi. This initiative was held in celebration of the World Day of Social Justice, aiming to deliver substantial aid and emotional encouragement to the global family.

Delivering a “Mother’s Heart” to 30 Households

During the event, which was graced by the presence of Starehe Deputy County Commissioner John Kisang, the Church donated specially prepared food boxes to 30 vulnerable households.

To ensure the practical well-being of our neighbors, each box was filled with essential daily items, including:

  1. Maize flour & Rice
  2. Sugar & Chai tea
  3. Long-life milk & Instant noodles

Beyond the donation ceremony, church members personally visited the homes of recipients to deliver the items and share warm conversations, checking on their well-being with the sincere heart of a family.

A Global Initiative for a Better Future

This campaign is part of the “Global Hope Supporters” initiative, launched to commemorate the Church’s 60th anniversary in 2024. This movement aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically focusing on “Poverty and Hunger Alleviation.”

As of last February, this message of hope has reached approximately 22,000 households in 48 countries, including Tanzania, Nepal, Thailand, and Greece.

Our Commitment to Kenya

The Church of God in Kenya has been a consistent partner in community development. Our previous activities include:

  1. Environmental Protection: Tree planting along the Nairobi River and Tudor Creek; cleanups on Ngara Road (Nairobi) and Vihiga Road (Kisumu).
  2. Health & Life: Conducting the “Worldwide Blood Drive” two times last year to mitigate local blood shortages.
  3. Education: Painting murals at a primary school in Homa Bay and installing security fences at a Nairobi high school.
  4. Economic Support: Providing fishing equipment (boats, motors, nets) to small-scale fishermen to foster self-reliance.

“Love Your Neighbor as Yourself”

A representative of the Church of God stated, “We hope these items, prepared with the heart of a mother, help our neighbors gain courage. We will continue to practice the love of God the Father and God the Mother, treating everyone in our community as one precious family.”

With over 7,800 branches in 175 countries, the World Mission Society Church of God remains dedicated to enhancing global harmony through sincere volunteer service and humanitarian aid.
