The 9,168th Worldwide Environmental Cleanup Campaign Held in Nairobi, Kenya

January 25, 2026

In an effort to protect God’s creation and serve local communities, the 9,168th Worldwide Environmental Cleanup Campaign was successfully conducted in Nairobi, Kenya, on January 25, 2026. This campaign is part of a global initiative continuously undertaken by the World Mission Society Church of God to promote environmental protection and to foster a harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature. The cleanup activity took place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. along Kayole Spine Road in Nairobi, covering a section of approximately 750 meters, stretching from Naivas Supermarket to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital.

During the event, volunteers diligently removed waste that had accumulated along roadsides, sidewalks, and public areas. As a result of this collective action, a total of 130 bags of trash (50 liters each) were collected, significantly improving the surrounding environment and making the area noticeably cleaner and safer. Local residents expressed their appreciation for the activity, noting improvements in sanitation, road conditions, and pedestrian safety. The event saw the voluntary participation of 79 church members, who worked in close collaboration with 12 members of the Nairobi City County Green Army, highlighting the importance of partnership in addressing environmental challenges.

Beyond the physical act of cleaning, the members reflected on the responsibility of believers to care for the earth entrusted to humanity by God. The campaign served as a reminder that environmental stewardship is not a one-time event, but a continual practice rooted in love, responsibility, and concern for future generations. The Church remains committed to carrying out environmental cleanup activities worldwide. Through these initiatives, it seeks to share love with neighbors, contribute positively to local communities, and continue working toward a sustainable and hopeful future for all.
