Hold Hope Campaign Brings Hope to Nairobi

October 23, 2025

The World Mission Society Church of God (General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol) donated 30 boxes of food to the Office of the President Deputy County Commissioner Starehe Sub-county Headquarters in Nairobi on October 23. This donation was part of the global “Hold Hope” campaign held in celebration of World Food Day (October 16).

The “Hold Hope” campaign aims to deliver not only material support but also hope to neighbors around the world who are suffering from the climate crisis, economic hardship, and disease. A Church representative said, “Our members prepared these food boxes with the heart of a mother caring for her family. We hope our neighbors will gain new strength through the love of God, who embraces all people as one family.”

Each box contained essential food items such as maize flour, rice, mung beans, cooking oil, sugar, tea, and milk. Earlier this year, the Church also supported 6,400 households in 25 countries with food and basic supplies in celebration of the World Day of Social Justice (February 20).

The “Hold Hope” campaign is part of the Church’s “Global Hope Supporters” initiative, which aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in six areas, including poverty and hunger alleviation, climate action, and educational support.

With more than 7,800 branches and 3.92 million members in 175 countries, the Church of God actively practices Christ’s teaching: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” The Church has carried out over 44,000 volunteer activities worldwide, including environmental cleanups, blood donations, disaster relief, and educational support.

For its humanitarian contributions, the Church has received more than 5,200 awards globally, including the U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award, the U.K. Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, and Peru’s National Environmental Award.

Through this “Hold Hope” campaign in Nairobi, the Church of God delivered warmth and encouragement to the community, helping people hold on to hope through the love of God.
