ASEZ Street Cleanup Campaign Held in Mombasa, Kenya
August 9, 2026
In an effort to protect God’s creation and serve local communities, an ASEZ (Save the Earth from A to Z) Street Cleanup Campaign was successfully conducted in Mombasa, Kenya, on August 9, 2026. This campaign is part of a global initiative continuously undertaken by ASEZ, the University Student volunteer group of the World Mission Society Church of God, to promote environmental protection and to foster a harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature. The cleanup activity took place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. along Koinage Street in Mombasa.
During the event, volunteers diligently removed waste that had accumulated along roadsides, sidewalks, and public areas. As a result of this collective action, a total of 37 bags of trash (50 liters each) were collected, significantly improving the surrounding environment and making the area noticeably cleaner and safer. The event saw the voluntary participation of 4 ASEZ members who traveled from Korea, working together with 12 ASEZ members from Kenya and students from the Technical University of Mombasa, who jointly hosted the campaign. A representative from Mombasa County also took part in the activity, and the county authorities collected the gathered waste afterward, highlighting the importance of partnership in addressing environmental challenges.

Beyond the physical act of cleaning, the members reflected on the responsibility of believers to care for the earth entrusted to humanity by God. The campaign served as a reminder that environmental stewardship is not a one-time event, but a continual practice rooted in love, responsibility, and concern for future generations. The Church remains committed to carrying out environmental cleanup activities worldwide. Through these initiatives, it seeks to share love with neighbors, contribute positively to local communities, and continue working toward a sustainable and hopeful future for all.
