Church of God in Homa Bay donates blood to save lives

June 28, 2026

On June 28, 2026, the World Mission Society Church of God (General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol) carried out the Worldwide Blood Drive to Give Life Through the Love of the Passover at the Homa Bay Referral Hospital in Kenya.

The event held special meaning as it was organized to practice the teachings of Jesus Christ, who established the new covenant through bread and wine symbolizing His flesh and blood on the night before His crucifixion, promising forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Members took part in the blood drive as a way of practicing the same sacrifice and love Christ showed to the world.

A total of 15 participants, including church members and their neighbors, gathered for the event. After undergoing pre-donation health checks, such as blood pressure measurement and blood testing, 11 people successfully donated a total of 4,950ml of valuable blood.

Simon Odhiambo, a church member who participated in the blood drive, expressed his thoughts, saying, “I am very happy and deeply moved that my small action can help save someone’s precious life. Just as Jesus granted eternal life to mankind through the Passover, I will continue to actively participate in community service activities to share God’s love with our neighbors.”

The World Mission Society Church of God is a global community established in more than 7,800 locations across 175 countries, believing in God the Father and God the Mother according to the Bible and keeping the new covenant truth of the early Church. Following Christ’s teachings, the church continues to carry out a wide range of social contribution activities, including climate action, poverty and hunger relief, and health and welfare.
