The Worldwide Cleanup Campaign

On Sunday 20th November 2022 ASEZ members from the World Mission Society Church of God Nairobi collectively volunteered to clean the environment in Ngara Estate. Driven by the slogan; Let’s save the earth, a UNEP initiative towards Global Environmental Purification Movement. The church of God has been undertaking this initiative with the Heart of Mother, who receives dirt with gratitude and purifies it with a broad and beautiful mind. The members embraced Ngara like the sea.
ASEZ RECEIVES GRATITUDE FROM COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR
As an opening remark with regard to the cleanup campaign: Ngara Ward Administrator. Mr. Augustine Wafula -County Government of Nairobi had this to say:
“Clean Environment is Biblical, it’s not a choice but individual responsibility”
‘I express my sincere gratitude towards the environmental impact The Church of God is making to the region. I’m amazed on every individual who gave effort and I encourage the self-driven, willing and available youth to continuously participate in such volunteer activity and despite my office having few members for the clean-up, I’m up to the task to work together with all other groups and organizations who are showing their love for environment as you do. If only I could include such a team when engaging temporary casuals or permanent laborer’s of the County Government, then we shall have a safer environment for all.’
SDG No 11, The NEMA Principles And ASEZ
One of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, SDG number 11 asserts on making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable; this involves Businesses, together with Governments at various levels, civil society organizations and citizens who can collectively engage in pursuing ambitious objectives to make cities more competitive, safe, resource-efficient, resilient and inclusive.
In the Nairobi County Governor’s Manifesto, clean environment and order is one of the key agendas of the city ; in regard to this, all stakeholders, volunteers and organizations are challenged to the task of clean environment 10 garbage bags were collected during the cleanup exercise.
In Nairobi, municipal waste is taken to the Dandora dumping site, a former quarry some 15 km east.
NEMA (National Environmental Management Authority is one of the Major Kenyan agencies mandated with achieving the United Nations Sustainable Goals, and Number 11 falls under its principal objectives. The major mandate of (NEMA) involves coordinating environmental management activities being undertaken by the lead agencies; Here are the 7 Key Principles Of Environmental Management

Here within, the 7 principles of Environmental Management lie the alignment of ASEZ activities that embodies the Teachings of Mother applied by its members. Since its Genesis, ASEZ has put into practice these key principles and the Kenya Nairobi members glorify God through environmental cleanups, and there’s the opportunity to share Mother’s Love.
THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE THE LOVE OF MOTHER
In heeding to the love of environment, following the example set by Heavenly Mother, the ASEZ members undertake voluntary activities every month. The ASEZ cleaning activity took two hours; 21 ASEZ members from various universities and two new members collectively joined in the cleanup campaign.
This involved street cleanup, picking garbage along the roads, residential pavements and business holdings.



An Introduction That Leads To More
The Ngara ward administrator was also introduced to our various ASEZ international activities, he promised that together with his office members they will continuously give us the support.
