ASEZ WAO Cleans 2km Road in Nairobi

December 7, 2025

On December 7, 2025, 70 members of ASEZ WAO, the Young Adult Worker volunteer group of the Church of God, carried out an environmental cleanup in Kasarani, Nairobi. The activity took place along a 2km section of ICIPE Road from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Volunteers collected litter filling 70 bags of approximately 40-liters each, visibly improving the local environment.

The cleanup aimed to create a cleaner and safer environment on the road frequently used by local residents and commuters. Members were divided into several groups and focused on collecting litter from sidewalks, road edges, and drainage areas.

“We believe that even the smallest action is meaningful. Cleaning up today is the beginning of building a cleaner city. When the community joins together, Nairobi can become a healthier and more beautiful place,” said an ASEZ WAO representative who organized the activity.

A church representative who joined the event added, “The core spirit of ASEZ WAO is ‘I’ll Do It.’ Even with busy schedules, these volunteers take initiative to serve the community. Their sincere participation brings positive change.”

Participants also shared their impressions. One volunteer said, “I pass this road every day, but today I realized how important it is to care for the environment we live in. I want to continue joining activities like this.”

Another volunteer commented, “Even small efforts can create meaningful change when we do it together.”

The cleanup demonstrated that simple actions can make a significant impact on the community. ASEZ WAO Nairobi plans to continue regular volunteer activities and expand community service initiatives.
